One reason for the win was Athens Christian's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for four sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Josh White and Conner Zwirn, who racked up all four sacks between them. White also made four total tackles, which is notable because Athens Christian is 2-1 when he posts at least three total tackles, but 2-3 otherwise. Martin got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Lakeview Academy). They breezed past The King's Academy to the tune of 48-20 on Thursday. The Lions pushed the score to 41-8 by the end of the third, a deficit the Knights cut but never quite recovered from.

A big part of Lakeview Academy's victory came down to the chemistry between Lewis Roberts and his top target Aiden Libutti. Roberts rushed for 12 yards and two TDs while Libutti rushed for 42 yards and a pair of scores. Libutti didn't just play on offense: he also picked up a sack and made three total tackles.

The win got Athens Christian back to even at 4-4. As for Lakeview Academy, the victory also got them back to even at 4-4.
