League recap: Bernstein extends winning streak with victory over Roybal

Adding to the longest winning streak in Central this week, Bernstein beat Roybal 32-12. The victory was the seventh in a row for the team.

The Titans lost to Bernstein 32-12 last week, the largest margin of any game.

Abraham Alvarado was a passing and rushing force as Masaki Matsumoto's team bested Roybal. He completed 10 passes for 172 yards and 1 touchdown and also ran for 83 yards. Alvarado's key target this week was Bairon Palma, who caught 4 passes for 74 yards.

Michael Ladino threw for 125 yards and 4 touchdowns.

Palma was the best wideout in the league this week as the Dragons beat Manuel Gomez's team. Palma tallied 4 receptions for 74 yards. Geo Grande helped Bernstein's passing attack out by catching 1 ball for 65 yards.

The leading receiver in the league this season is Miguel Torres. The Roybal star has 23 catches for 493 yards.

Bernstein's Navin Khenkaew is a mere 70 yards away from breaking the 1,000-rushing-yards mark for the season. In 113 carries Khenkaew has accumulated 930 yard this year.

One of the league's premier quarterbacks will face off with its top pass rusher when Contreras and Torres face off next week. John Gonzalez has dominated opposing QBs with a total of 15.0 sacks, while Ladino has 1,298 passing yards and 10 touchdowns on the season.

The Sentinels are currently in fourth, while the Dragons are in first.
