Baseball Recap: South Shore International Triumphs

South Shore International barely beat ACERO Garcia the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Tars never let the Patriots get on the board and left with a 6-0 victory on Saturday. The Tars not only won on Saturday, but they posted their biggest win since May 15, 2024 (when they won 16-1).

The result came thanks to Dion Johnson's shutout, as he gave up just three hits and racked up six Ks.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Elijah Okunlola, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with four stolen bases, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Jakyri Mitchell, who went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

South Shore International's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-8. As for ACERO Garcia, their loss ended a six-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 6-3.

South Shore International will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Patriots: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
