Softball Recap: Jackson North Side Indians vs. McNairy Central Bobcats
Jackson North Side extended their losing streak to six on Tuesday, dropping them down to 4-14. They came up short against the McNairy Central Bobcats, falling 17-0. If the Indians were looking for revenge after losing 22-0 to the Bobcats when the teams met back in April of 2025, then they'll just have to keep looking.
As for McNairy Central, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-3-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games.
For McNairy Central's part, Bayleigh Purviance was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one double. Those three stolen bases gave Purviance a new career-high. Haylee Wilson also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.
Coming up, Jackson North Side will challenge Peabody at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for McNairy Central, they will take on Lexington at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
