Baseball Recap: Mt. Baker Takes a Loss

Mt. Baker was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 14th straight defeat. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 6-4 heartbreaker at the hands of the Squalicum Storm. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Mountaineers have suffered since April 23, 2024.

Mt. Baker's defeat dropped their record down to 1-15. As for Squalicum, their win ended a 16-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-14.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mt. Baker will venture away from home to challenge Sehome at 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday. The Mariners' pitching crew has only allowed 4.1 runs per game this season, so the Mountaineers' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Squalicum, they will head out to take on Burlington-Edison at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Tigers will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something the Storm surely won't give up without a fight.
