Football Recap: Villa Rica Falls to Troup County in First Game of Season + How To Watch

Villa Rica kicked off their season on the road on Friday and hit a couple of potholes. They took a 42-31 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Troup County Tigers. The Wildcats lost against the Tigers in their previous head to head back in August of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 39-6 score last time.

Javarris Warner had an outrageously good game for Troup County as he rushed for 117 yards and a pair of scores on only ten carries, and also caught one touchdown. Another player making a difference was Garrison Edwards, who threw for 201 yards and three TDs while completing 83.3% of his passes.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Villa Rica will take on Northgate at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Troup County, they will challenge Harris County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
