Softball Recap: Currituck County Takes a Loss

Currituck County lost against Nansemond River back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. Currituck County fell just short of Nansemond River by a score of 8-7.

Isabella Bartolotta was cooking despite her team's loss, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. Kori Belangia also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Currituck County has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-6 record this season. The win made it two in a row for Nansemond River and bumps their season record up to 2-1.

Coming up, Currituck County will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Holmes at 5:00 p.m. Currituck County's pitchers better be ready for this one: Holmes has averaged an impressive 10.4 runs per game this season. As for Nansemond River, they will face off against Arcadia at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
