Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Lincoln Southwest). Their defense stepped up to hand the Burke Bulldogs a 15-0 shutout on Monday. Give Lincoln Southwest's defense some credit: that's the team's eighth straight shutout.

Their offense was hitting Burke from everywhere, as seven different players booted in a goal. Ansley Throener led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for four goals all by herself.

Lincoln Southwest's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-1. Those home victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those five contests. As for Burke, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-12 record this season.
