While Centennial's win against Alamogordo wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Hawks narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Tigers 4-3. The win was familiar territory for the Hawks, who have now won five contests in a row.

Jonah Martinez looked comfortable as he tossed 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (four).

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Johnny Renteria, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-2.

Centennial's victory was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-4. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.6 runs over those games. As for Alamogordo, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-7 record this season.
