The Aurora Christian Eagles will head out on the road to take on the Wheaton Academy Warriors at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
On Wednesday, Aurora Christian got the win against Westminster Christian by a conclusive 14-4. Considering the Eagles have won six games by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.
Nolan Robertson spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered four earned runs on five hits.

On the hitting side, Jack Burns was incredible, going 2-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Javier Pfeifer also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.
Aurora Christian always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .561. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Wheaton Academy). Everything went their way against St. Edward on Tuesday as they made off with an 18-1 victory. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Warriors with their most commanding win of the season.
The team relied heavily on Dom Murrell, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Wheaton Academy is 6-1 when Murrell posts two or more runs, but 3-9 otherwise. Eli Tate was another key player, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
The win made it two in a row for Wheaton Academy and bumps their season record up to 9-10. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 5 runs in those games. As for Aurora Christian, their record is now 11-6.
Wheaton Academy's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Aurora Christian hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .317. It's a different story for Wheaton Academy, though, as they've only averaged .255. Will they be able to contain Aurora Christian's hitters?
Aurora Christian came up short against Wheaton Academy when the teams last played back in April of 2024, falling 6-1. Can the Eagles avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
