Newman Catholic lost to St. Ansgar back in July of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Friday. The Knights were the clear victors by a 10-2 margin over the Saints. The Knights might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matchups by six runs or more this season.

Newman Catholic pushed their record up to 9-1 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 6.1 runs. As for St. Ansgar, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 4-9.

Coming up, Newman Catholic will challenge Osage at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Green Devils will roll in looking for their 13th straight victory, something the Knights surely won't give up without a fight. As for St. Ansgar, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 10-2 loss against Riceville on the 14th.
