Soccer Game Preview: Fremd vs. Barrington

Fremd hasn't had much luck against Barrington recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The Vikings will be playing in front of their home fans against the Fillies/Broncos at 12:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Barrington will challenge a team with plenty of momentum: Fremd extended their winning streak to four on Wednesday. The Vikings never let Elk Grove get on the board and left with a 5-0 victory. Fremd's defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last four contests.

They hit Elk Grove with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Lily Mayer (2), Gia Gillespie, Gianna Pietrini, and Gwen Zimmerman.

Meanwhile, Prospect kept up with Barrington until halftime on Wednesday, but afterwards: not so much. The Fillies/Broncos put the hurt on the Knights with a sharp 3-0 win. Give Barrington's defense some credit: that's the team's fourth straight shutout.

Fremd's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-0-1. As for Barrington, their win bumped their record up to 5-0-2.
