DeKalb had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They came out on top against the Angola Hornets by a score of 10-5 on Monday. The Barons haven't had any issues with the Hornets recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Brady Vince was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up a single earned run in five consecutive appearances. He was even better at the plate, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April.

In other batting news, Dalton Cox was excellent, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April. Cory Cox was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one RBI.

DeKalb's victory bumped their record up to 20-4. As for Angola, with the defeat, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 23-7.

Coming up, DeKalb will face off against Western at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Barons 2.8, the Panthers 3.4) so any runs scored will be well earned. Angola does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
