Preview: Don Bosco Prep Ironmen vs. Patrick School Celtics

Don Bosco Prep is 0-3 against Patrick School since March of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Don Bosco Prep Ironmen will be staying on the road to face off against the Patrick School Celtics at 9:15 p.m. on December 27th. Don Bosco Prep has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 373 points over their last five contests.

Don Bosco Prep scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Saturday. They managed a 96-92 victory over IMG Academy. Given Don Bosco Prep's advantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked first in New Jersey, while IMG Academy is ranked 53rd in Florida), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Dylan Harper continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 33 points along with eight rebounds. That makes it five consecutive games in which he has scored at least 25% of Don Bosco Prep's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Brady Loughlin, who scored 18 points.

Meanwhile, Patrick School had already won five in a row dating back to last season (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 20.6 points), and they went ahead and made it six two weeks ago. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past St. Rose 62-59. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.

Don Bosco Prep came up short against Patrick School in their previous meeting back in January of 2022, falling 51-45. Can Don Bosco Prep avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
