Basketball Game Preview: Katahdin Cougars vs. Fort Kent Warriors

Katahdin is 1-6 against Fort Kent since January of 2022 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Saturday. The Katahdin Cougars will venture away from home to face off against the Fort Kent Warriors at 1:00 p.m. One thing working in Katahdin's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last seven contests.

It was a proper cat-fight when Katahdin duked it out withCentral Aroostook on Wednesday. Katahdin strolled past Central Aroostook with points to spare, taking the game 58-41.

Meanwhile, Fort Kent faced Caribou in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Wednesday. Fort Kent came up short against Caribou, falling 87-64. The Warriors have struggled against the Vikings recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Katahdin pushed their record up to 10-2 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 24.7 points per game. As for Fort Kent, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-4.

Katahdin came up short against Fort Kent in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, falling 56-45. Can Katahdin avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
