Volleyball Game Preview: West Caldwell Tech Eagles vs. Ridge Red Devil

The West Caldwell Tech Eagles will head out on the road to challenge the Ridge Red Devil at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

Last Friday, West Caldwell Tech didn't have quite enough to beat Bloomfield and fell 2-1. The contest marked the Eagles' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, West Caldwell Tech sadly dropped the once that decided the match. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 22-25, 25-19.

West Caldwell Tech's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of John Jimenez, who had 20 digs and one assist, and Mathew Asitimbay, who had eight digs and two aces.

Meanwhile, Ridge was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of Pinelands Regional.

Having lost for the first time this season, West Caldwell Tech fell to 4-1. As for Ridge, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-9.
