Volleyball Recap: Garner Find Success

Garner saw some tournament action on Thursday. They came out on top against the Midway Falcons by a score of 2-0. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Longhorns.

Garner can attribute much of their success to Kaylin Long, who had 11 assists and six aces. Those six aces gave Long a new career-high.

Long wasn't the only good server: Garner was lethal from the service line and finished the game with ten aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least seven aces in three consecutive contests.

Garner's victory bumped their record up to 4-5. As for Midway, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Garner wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 2-0 defeat against Victory Christian Academy on the 21st. As for Midway, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Electra at 10:00 a.m. on September 6.
