Basketball Game Preview: Jefferson Democrats vs. Tigard Tigers

The Jefferson Democrats will be taking part in a tournament against the Tigard Tigers at 2:30 p.m. on Monday. Jefferson will be strutting in after a win while Tigard will be coming in after a defeat.

Jefferson is coming into the matchup on the come-up as their season has now been buoyed by two straight victories. They walked away with a 64-52 win over Cleveland on Friday.

Meanwhile, Tigard was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They received a blow as they fell 62-47 to Oregon City. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oregon basketball rankings (they are ranked 73rd, while the Pioneers are ranked eighth).

Jefferson's victory bumped their record up to 3-9. As for Tigard, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-6.

Things could have been worse for Jefferson, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took an 80-61 loss to Tigard in their previous meeting back in December of 2022.
