Football Recap: Clovis Piles Up the Points Against Bullard

Clovis got themselves on the board against Bullard on Thursday, but Bullard never followed suit. They blew past the Knights 35-0. The result was nothing new for the Cougars, who have now won three matches by 35 points or more so far this season.

Clovis got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was James Curoso out in front who rushed for 174 yards and a pair of TDs while picking up 7.9 yards per carry. Those 174 rushing yards gave Curoso a new career-high. Aidan Dunkley was another key back, rushing for 112 yards and one touchdown.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Clovis was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 296 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

The victory made it two in a row for Clovis and bumps their season record up to 4-1. As for Bullard, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Clovis will challenge Buchanan at 7:00 p.m. on October 3. After each having a week off, Bullard and Sanger will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field against one another at 7:30 p.m. on October 3. The contest will give the Knights their first taste of in-conference action this season.
