Basketball Recap: Red Rock Takes a Loss

Red Rock lost against Madison Highland Prep back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Red Rock Scorpions were outmatched by the Madison Highland Prep Heat and fell 84-56.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Madison Highland Prep to victory, but perhaps none more so than Cade Carlstrom, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 11 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Will Marsh, who posted eight points along with seven steals and six assists.

Red Rock has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.8 points per game. As for Madison Highland Prep, their win was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 10-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Red Rock will challenge Camp Verde at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Camp Verde is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 52.9 points per game this season. As for Madison Highland Prep, they will square off against St. John Paul II Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
