Baseball Game Preview: Waskom Wildcats vs. Union Grove Lions

For the second straight game, Waskom will face off against Union Grove. The Wildcats will venture away from home to challenge the Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Waskom is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.

It was a proper cat-fight when Waskom duked it out with Union Grove on Tuesday. The Wildcats fell 8-5 to the Lions.

Remington Riley spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on three hits and racked up eight Ks. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Jacob Woodward made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases and two runs. He has become a key player for Waskom: the team is 4-2 when he posts at least two runs, but 3-12 otherwise.

Union Grove's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-17-2. As for Waskom, their loss dropped their record down to 7-14.
