Volleyball Recap: Academy for Classical Education Comes Up Short

Academy for Classical Education was the 2-1 winner over Mary Persons when they last played one another back in August of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Gryphons fell just short of the Bulldogs by a score of 3-2 on Thursday. While the Gryphons didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Bulldogs 25-20 in the first set.

Academy for Classical Education started the match hot and won the first two sets, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 20-25, 20-25, 25-17, 25-18, 15-9.

Academy for Classical Education's loss dropped their record down to 11-6. As for Mary Persons, their win bumped their record up to 9-4.

Coming up, Academy for Classical Education will be playing in front of their home fans against Perry at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Mary Persons, they will take on Lake Oconee Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
