1A Southern Peaks recap October 1, 2013
Center lost to Centauri 45-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Jeremy Moreno was a bright spot for the Vikings, as he caught 1 pass for 30 yards in the loss.
Jareb Aziz was a passing and rushing force as the Falcons bested Center.
Moreno was the best wideout in 1A Southern Peaks this week as Lee Flood's team lost to Centauri. Ruben Hernandez helped Center's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 24 yards.
On the heels of KC Jarvies and Jason Buhr, Kyle Forster's team has had great success on offense. Jarvies leads the league in passing with 692 yards, while Buhr has rushed for 492 yards this season. Tops in the league in receiving yards is Monte Vista's Daniel Borunda, with 304 yards on 18 catches.
Next week's game between the Falcons and Ignacio will feature an aerial matchup as Jarvies tests his arm against Clayton Jefferson's defensive ability.
An important game coming up in the league this week will be when Centauri takes on the Bobcats. At the moment, the Falcons are in third, while Ignacio is in fourth.
The Pirates led the league in scoring this week after putting up 50 points on Lupe Huerta's team. Jacob Vance ran for 200 yards during the win.
