Recap: Southeast Seminoles vs. Braden River Pirates

This season hasn't been kind to The Southeast Seminoles, who are still winless after their ninth matchup. They had to suffer through a rough 35-7 loss at the hands of Braden River. Southeast has struggled against Braden River recently, as their matchup on Friday was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.

It was another big night for Yahshua Edwards, who picked up 108 receiving yards and two touchdowns, and also rushed for 140 yards and a touchdown on only 15 carries. Another player making a difference was Lucas Despot, who threw for 134 yards and four touchdowns.

Southeast's loss was their tenth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 0-9. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 7-1 IMG Academy White and 7-2 Port Charlotte (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 63.2% over those games). As for Braden River, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Southeast will square off against Manatee at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Manatee presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Southeast in Florida (Manatee is ranked 78th, while Southeast is ranked 417th). As for Braden River, they will head out on the road to face off against Wildwood at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
