New Caney had to suffer through a 73-19 loss at the hands of Grand Oaks. The Eagles were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 43-14.

Meanwhile, Willis came up short against College Park on Friday, falling 52-29. While losing is never fun, the Wildkats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1009th, while the Cavaliers are ranked 371st).

New Caney's defeat dropped their record down to 5-24. As for Willis, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-18 record this season.

New Caney and Willis were neck-and-neck in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, but New Caney came up empty-handed after a 30-29 loss. Can New Caney avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
