Basketball Recap: St. Edward's Now 6-1 over Last Seven Games

Atlantic Christian came into Saturday's game looking for another win against St. Edward, but Avonti Jennings wouldn't allow it. The St. Edward's Pirates managed a 35-30 win over the Atlantic Christian Sharks on Saturday thanks in part to Jennings, who went 8 of 14 en route to 18 points in addition to eight rebounds and seven steals. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in blocks (four).

Gabriella Collazo was another key player, putting up four points and five steals. She has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last eight times she's played.

St. Edward's has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season. As for Atlantic Christian, they moved to 16-7 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. St. Edward's will take on Odyssey Charter School in a tournament on Tuesday. Odyssey Charter School has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the contest with seven straight defeats, while St. Edward's will come in with four straight victories. As for Atlantic Christian, they will take on Boca Raton Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
