Baseball Recap: Delavan-Darien Takes a Loss

Elkhorn hit Delavan-Darien with a four-run fifth inning on Saturday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Comets took a 9-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Elks. The Comets have struggled against the Elks recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

Delavan-Darien saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kevin O'Grady, who went 2-for-3 with two runs. The Comets are 4-2 when O'Grady posts two or more runs, but 5-10-1 otherwise. Kaden Garbe also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

Delavan-Darien's record now sits at 9-12-1. As for Elkhorn, their victory was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-7.

Coming up, Delavan-Darien will head out to square off against Fort Atkinson at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Elkhorn, they will welcome Milton at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
