Baseball Recap: East Noble Sets Scoring Season-High Against New Haven

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask East Noble). They never let the New Haven Bulldogs get on the board and left with a 17-0 win on Thursday. The Knights have beaten the Bulldogs the last five times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Bulldogs has come to flipping the script.

Jackson Leedy made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. What's more, he posted two strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April. He was also big at the plate, firing off two home runs and four RBI while going 3-for-4.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ian Ramey, who fired off two home runs, six RBI, and three runs while going 3-for-4. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April. Hayden Mitchener was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with three runs, one triple, and one RBI.

East Noble was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .567. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .304 or higher in five consecutive contests.

East Noble's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-6. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for New Haven, their loss dropped their record down to 10-10.

Coming up, East Noble will venture away from home to face off against Lakeland at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Lakers' pitching crew has only allowed 3.3 runs per game this season, so the Knights' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for New Haven, they will take on Fort Wayne South Side in a tournament on Saturday.
