Baseball Game Preview: Flat Rock Rams vs. Milan Big Reds

The Flat Rock Rams will face off against the Milan Big Reds at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Flat Rock is coming into the match hot, having won their last seven games.

On Friday, it was close, but Flat Rock sidestepped Roosevelt for a 7-5 victory. That's two games straight that the Rams have won by exactly two runs.

Flat Rock's win was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Alex Baron, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one run and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Milan had to endure a five-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Belleville on Saturday, sneaking past 6-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Big Reds have posted since April 8th.

The team relied heavily on Kamran Ackley, who went 3-for-5 with two stolen bases and two runs. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Zack Straub was another key player, getting on base in two of his five plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.

Flat Rock's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-4. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games. As for Milan, their win bumped their record up to 9-11.
