Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Leesville). They put the hurt on the East Beauregard Trojans with a sharp 19-1 victory on Friday. The win continues a trend for the Wampus Cats in their matchups with the Trojans: they've now won four in a row.

Hunter Garton was a major factor no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (two). He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Hunter Belton, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4. That's the most hits he has posted since back in February. Another player making a difference was Creek Smith, who scored three runs while going 2-for-4.

Leesville's victory bumped their record up to 7-13-1. As for East Beauregard, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-14.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Leesville beat the Trojans by a score of 21-0 later that day.
