Recap: Flora Wolves vs. Hamilton County Foxes
The Flora Wolves lost against the Hamilton County Foxes back in November of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Flora took a hard 65-49 fall against Hamilton County. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Flora in their matchups with Hamilton County: they've now lost six in a row.
Hamilton County's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Rayci Phelps, who scored 22 points. That makes it four consecutive games in which Phelps has scored at least a third of Hamilton County's points. Kaylie Brake was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with ten rebounds and five assists.
Flora's defeat dropped their record down to 6-19. As for Hamilton County, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 10-12.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Flora will face off against Edwards County at 6:15 p.m. on Monday. Edwards County presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Flora in Illinois (Edwards County is ranked 224th, while Flora is ranked 478th). Hamilton County's road trip will continue as they head out to face Frankfort at 1:00 p.m. on January 27th.
