Baseball Recap: Desert Ridge Has No Trouble Against Williams Field

Desert Ridge lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Williams Field, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Thursday's contest. The Jaguars put the hurt on the Black Hawks with a sharp 9-1 win on Thursday. This was a revenge game for the Jaguars: when they faced off against the Black Hawks last Tuesday, they had to take a 4-2 defeat.

Desert Ridge let Mason Gamboa and Max Gamboa run wild. Mason went 2-for-4 with four RBI and one double, while Max scored two runs while going 2-for-4. Those four RBI gave Mason a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Max Abalos, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Desert Ridge's victory bumped their record up to 6-13. As for Williams Field, the loss snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 14-6 record.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Desert Ridge will challenge Marana at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Williams Field, they will square off against Queen Creek at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. The last three games the Bulldogs have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
