Basketball Recap: Kankakee Trinity Academy Comes Up Short

Kankakee Trinity Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 12th straight loss. They had to suffer through a 54-17 loss at the hands of the Grant Park Dragons. Kankakee Trinity Academy was probably out for revenge after losing 57-21 to them when the teams met back in January of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Despite the defeat, Kankakee Trinity Academy saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Elise Boerema posted 12 points and five boards.

Kankakee Trinity Academy's loss dropped their record down to 0-12. As for Grant Park, they pushed their record up to 6-10 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home.

Kankakee Trinity Academy won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Heritage Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Grant Park, they will head out on the road to face off against Illinois Lutheran at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Grant Park is facing Illinois Lutheran at the right time seeing as Illinois Lutheran is stuck on a 14-game losing streak.
