Football Game Preview: Sparta Academy Warriors vs. Patrician Academy Saints

The Sparta Academy Warriors will venture away from home to challenge the Patrician Academy Saints at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Friday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Sparta Academy beat Lakeside School 20-16. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Warriors.

Meanwhile, Patrician Academy earned a 38-30 victory over Morgan Academy on Friday. The win continues a trend for the Saints in their matchups with the Senators: they've now won five in a row.

This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to Remington Faile and Ethan Carr. Faile rushed for 149 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 8.8 yards per carry while Carr gained 203 total yards and a touchdown. Faile's rushing production has been exceptional as that marked his fifth straight game with at least 114 rushing yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Bryson Reid, who threw for 112 yards and a pair of TDs.

Sparta Academy's record is now 4-2. As for Patrician Academy, their record now sits at 6-0.

Sparta Academy was dealt a bruising 41-0 loss at the hands of Patrician Academy in their previous matchup back in September of 2022. Can the Warriors avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
