Softball Recap: Socastee Comes Up Short

Socastee was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 6-5 heartbreaker at the hands of the Conway Tigers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Tigers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 12-2 last Wednesday.

Socastee's loss dropped their record down to 2-20. As for Conway, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-7.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Socastee will take on St. James at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Sharks will roll in looking for their 12th straight victory, something the Braves surely won't give up without a fight. As for Conway, they will square off against Carolina Forest at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Tigers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Panthers have averaged an impressive 7 runs per game this season.
