Soccer Game Preview: Draughn vs. Patton

Draughn has enjoyed the comforts of home their last three games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will head out to challenge the Patton Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Patton is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 3.1 goals per game this season.

Patton will have to contend with a Draughn squad hungry for a win, something the team hasn't seen since August 17. Draughn fell just short of R-S Central by a score of 3-2 on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Patton kept a clean sheet against East Burke on Wednesday. They put the hurt on the Cavaliers with a sharp 9-0 victory. Given Patton's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 193rd, while East Burke are ranked 566th), the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Patton has now won 13 of their last 14 games at home. That gives them a 5-4 record this season. Those home wins came by way of their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 72 goals over those 14 matchups. As for Draughn, they have now lost 10 of their last 13 games at home. That leaves them at a 1-5-2 record this season.
