Football Recap: Sunnyvale Makes It Seven in a Row at Home

Sunnyvale had won seven straight at home dating back to last season, but on Friday they bumped up to 3-0 to make it eight. They walked away with a 45-34 victory over the Caddo Mills Foxes. Sunnyvale pushed the score to 42-14 by the end of the third, a deficit Caddo Mills cut but never quite recovered from.

Cayson Maupin had an outrageously good game as he threw for 314 yards and four TDs, and also rushed for 76 yards. A healthy portion of Maupin's aerial production (85 yards to be exact) went to Hudson Leonard, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.

Having lost for the first time this season, Caddo Mills fell to 2-1. They haven't had much luck with Sunnyvale recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Despite the loss, Caddo Mills still got an impressive performance from Kollin Heath, who picked up 142 receiving yards and a pair of scores. Heath's longest reception was for an incredible 85 yards.

Looking ahead, Sunnyvale will host Van at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Caddo Mills, they will venture away from home to challenge Brownsboro at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
