Basketball Recap: Adelynn Mckee's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Christian Community over Algoma Christian

Christian Community saw some tournament action on Wednesday. They lost to the Algoma Christian Knights on the road by a 47-33 margin.

Christian Community lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Adelynn McKee, who dropped a double-double with 11 points and 12 rebounds. That's the most points she has posted since back in November of 2024. Lyla Miller was another key player, putting up seven points along with eight boards and four steals.

Even though they lost, Christian Community was working as a unit and finished the game with ten assists. This was only their second loss (out of 12 games) when they've passed the ball that well.

Leading Algoma Christian to victory were Mackenzie Afton and Makayla Afton. Mackenzie went 5-for-7 to rack up 14 points in addition to six rebounds and three steals, while Makayla dropped a double-double with 12 points and ten boards. Makayla has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last seven times she's played. Another player making a difference was Taylor McLean, who earned four points.

Christian Community's loss dropped their record down to 13-12. As for Algoma Christian, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season.

Christian Community didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 50-38 defeat against Cumberland Valley Christian on the 6th. As for Algoma Christian, they have also already played their next contest, a 37-34 loss against Tournament Opponent on the 7th.
