Football Recap: Middletown North Takes Down Middletown South in a Playoff Battle + How To Watch

With a playoff win on the line, Middletown North rose to the challenge on Friday. They walked away with a 28-19 victory over the Middletown South Eagles. For the Lions, this counts as revenge for the 32-22 win the Eagles walked away with the last time they faced one another back in November of 2024.

Matthew Belenko continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 172 yards and a pair of TDs while picking up 8.6 yards per carry. He really tore up the turf during one magnificent 75-yard run. Kade Little got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Middletown North didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Little and Mj Parulis. Parulis has become a key player for Middletown North: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least one interception, but 2-3 otherwise. Little got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

The victory got Middletown North back to even at 4-4. As for Middletown South, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-6.

Coming up, Middletown North will take on Manalapan at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Middletown South does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
