Softball Recap: Armwood Snaps Five-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

Armwood's game last Saturday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 17-1 margin over the Middleton Tigers. The result was nothing new for the Hawks, who have now won four contests by ten runs or more so far this season.

Dichelle Walker looked comfortable as she struck out six batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits (and not a single walk). That's the fewest earned runs she has allowed since back in February.

On the hitting side, Armwood got a massive performance out of Tikema Jackson, who fired off two home runs, five RBI, and three runs while going 3-for-4. Those five RBI gave Jackson a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Azaria Hall, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base.

Armwood lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Armwood's win ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-8. As for Middleton, they are on a 13-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-11.

Coming up, Armwood will host Strawberry Crest at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Middleton, they will venture away from home to take on Robinson at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
