Football Recap: Willard Takes a Loss

Willard extended their losing streak to four on Friday, dropping them down to 1-6. They were dealt a 55-0 defeat at the hands of the Webb City Cardinals. The matchup marked the first time this season in which the Tigers were not able to get on the board.

As for Webb City, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season. Their offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Talan Haslip was a one-man wrecking crew as he rushed for 81 yards and one TD on only five carries. Those 81 rushing yards gave him a new career-high.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Willard is set to take on their familiar foe Joplin at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Webb City will face off against rival Carthage at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
