Basketball Recap: STEM School Highlands Ranch Takes a Loss

STEM School Highlands Ranch lost against The Pinnacle back in February and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Spartans took a blow against the Timberwolves, falling 70-29. The contest marked the Spartans' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Matt Moore was STEM School Highlands Ranch's leading scorer, having posted eight points. Ramsey Kelly held things down on the boards with six rebounds.

The Pinnacle's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Caleb Arellano, who shot 58% from the field en route to 18 points in addition to six assists and three steals. Arellano is crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least three every time he's taken the court this season. Mario Munoz was another key player, going 7-for-15 to rack up 19 points.

This is the second loss in a row for STEM School Highlands Ranch and nudges their season record down to 1-4. As for The Pinnacle, they pushed their record up to 2-1 with the win, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season.

STEM School Highlands Ranch didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 61-34 victory against KIPP Denver Collegiate on the 12th. As for The Pinnacle, they have also already played their next matchup, a 69-34 win against William Smith on the 12th.
