Baseball Game Preview: Nimitz Cougars vs. Eisenhower Eagles

For the second straight game, Nimitz will face off against Eisenhower. The Cougars will host the Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Nimitz is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak.

Nimitz fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Eisenhower on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 6-5.

Juan Arana was huge no matter where he played even without the win. He tossed 2.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. Nimitz is 2-1 when Arana allows two or fewer earned runs, but 4-13 otherwise. Arana was also big at the plate, going 2-for-5 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one double. That double marked the first that he has hit this season.

In other batting news, Nimitz got a massive performance out of Sebastian Maple, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases and two runs. Another player making a difference was Matthew Maple, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and two runs.

Nimitz's defeat dropped their record down to 6-14. As for Eisenhower, they moved to 7-17 with that win, which also ended their nine-game losing streak.
