Sonora has gone 5-0 against Escalon recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Sonora Wildcats duke it out with the Escalon Cougars at 7:00 p.m. Sonora is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.3 points per game this season.

Having struggled with three losses in a row, Sonora turned things around against Livingston on Friday. Everything went their way against the Wolves as they made off with a 78-57 win. Given the Wildcats' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 381st, while the Wolves are ranked 775th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Sonora's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Luke Otterson, who went 6 for 9 on his way to 15 points and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Noah Wright, who went 5 of 8 on his way to 16 points.

Meanwhile, Escalon was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Friday as they fell 55-50 to Golden Valley. While Escalon didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating Golden Valley 18-13 in the first quarter.

Escalon's defeat dropped their record down to 9-6. As for Sonora, their win bumped their record up to an identical 9-6.

Sonora strolled past Escalon in their previous meeting back in December of 2023 by a score of 67-51. Does Sonora have another victory up their sleeve, or will Escalon turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
