Softball Recap: Beecher Picks Up 23rd Straight Win on the Road

On Monday Beecher's undefeated season almost came to an end. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 8-6 victory over the Mt. Zion Braves.

Makenzie Johnson and Ava Olson did most of the damage at the plate: Johnson went 3-for-5 with one run and one RBI, while Olson went 1-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Liliana Irwin, who went 2-for-3 with two runs.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Beecher kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in three consecutive games.

Beecher's win was their 23rd straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 12-0. As for Mt. Zion, their loss ended a 14-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 8-2.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Beecher beat the Braves by a score of 12-10 later that day.
