Mesa's run defense was locked in: Cesar Chavez could only muster 2.7 yards per carry. The team can thank Kainalu Skipps for the heroic effort on defense: he. Mesa didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 6.5.

Mesa didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off four passes before the game was over. Kameron Williams led the group effort, picking up two of those interceptions all by himself. Gabriel Vick is also on a roll when it comes to total tackles, as he's now made six or more in each of the last three games he's played. Another thorn in Cesar Chavez's side was Skipps, who forced one fumble and made nine total tackles (1.5 for loss).

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Perry). They claimed a resounding 48-7 win over Westwood. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 34-7.

Mesa pushed their record up to 4-3 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 11.3 points on average over those games. As for Perry, they now also have a winning record of 4-3.
