Volleyball Recap: Aurora Central Comes Up Short at Home Against Alameda + How To Watch

Aurora Central unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They came up short against the Alameda Pirates on Tuesday, falling 3-0. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it six in a row.

Aurora Central was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the first set very close. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 25-18, 25-21.

Tahliyah Johnson Gonzalez paced Aurora Central's offense, picking up eight kills. Johnson Gonzalez got some help from Andena Torres and her two assists. Johnson Gonzalez was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

Aurora Central didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 defeat against Kennedy on the 29th. As for Alameda, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 3-1 victory against Manual on the 28th.
