Basketball Game Preview: Waukesha South Blackshirts vs. Waterford Wolverines

The Waukesha South Blackshirts will take on the Waterford Wolverines in a holiday battle at at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Waukesha South lost 68-47 to Mukwonago on Tuesday. The contest marked the Blackshirts' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Waterford). They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 78-76 win over Beloit Memorial on Tuesday. Winning may never get old, but the Wolverines sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

Waterford pushed their record up to 6-2 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 24.1 points. As for Waukesha South, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-4.

Waukesha South beat Waterford 75-65 in their previous matchup back in February of 2021. The rematch might be a little tougher for Waukesha South since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
