Volleyball Game Preview: Sheridan Blackhawks vs. Rossville Hornets

The Sheridan Blackhawks will head out to square off against the Rossville Hornets at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Sheridan is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Lapel just ended the team's four-match winning streak on Thursday. They came up short against the Bulldogs, falling 3-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Blackhawks have suffered since August 18th.

Meanwhile, Rossville was able to grind out a solid win over Seeger on Thursday, taking the game 3-1. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Hornets.

Rossville had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 22-25, 25-15, 25-22, 25-16.

Sheridan's defeat dropped their record down to 13-6. As for Rossville, their victory bumped their record up to 18-2.

Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Tuesday's contest: Sheridan has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 9.3 aces per game. However, it's not like Rossville struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 10.2 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.

Sheridan came out on top in a nail-biter against Rossville in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, sneaking past 2-1. Do the Blackhawks have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Hornets turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
