Football Game Preview: Black Hawk/Warren IL vs. River Ridge Timberwolves

On Friday, Black Hawk/Warren IL earned a 28-21 win over Potosi/Cassville.

Black Hawk/Warren IL's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Beau Podnar, who rushed for 84 yards and one touchdown on only 11 carries, and also threw for 83 yards and a pair of TDs on only seven passes. Dax Paquin helped out on the ground, rushing for 80 yards.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Black Hawk/Warren IL was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 270 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 191 rushing yards every time they've taken the field this season.

Meanwhile, River Ridge was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They had to suffer through a 54-12 loss at the hands of Pecatonica/Argyle. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Timberwolves have suffered against the Vikings since October 7, 2017.

River Ridge's defeat dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Black Hawk/Warren IL, their record is now 9-0.
